Job Advertisement: Operational Manager at Pajala Airport

Pajala Municipality is the large (in area) small municipality located in the land of the Northern Lights and the Midnight Sun – Tornedalen, in eastern Norrbotten. Pajala Airport, "The Window to the World", is a central hub in Tornedalen, and we are now looking for dedicated airport staff.

At the airport, the airline Jonair operates, offering regular flights to and from Luleå with two departures and two arrivals every weekday. In addition to scheduled flights, we also have charter traffic, military flights, helicopters, and private pilots using the airport.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We offer a versatile role where your responsibilities span airport rescue services, ramp handling, and field maintenance. In the role of operational manager, tasks include managing new and changed regulations, staff management, handling incident reports, training responsibilities, and staffing. The operational manager is also responsible for planning and conducting fire and rescue exercises, special event drills, and annual joint exercises with other emergency services.

QUALIFICATIONS

The operational manager should have:

• Adequate practical experience and knowledge in airport operations.
• Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements for airports.
• Appropriate knowledge of safety and quality management systems.
• Knowledge of the airport's operational manual.
• Experience and/or training in airport work, personnel management, economic and procurement work is an advantage.
• The job requires a valid driver's license (category B) as well as good knowledge of Swedish and English, and basic computer skills.

The position is security classified, therefore Swedish citizenship is required, and you must provide an extract from the criminal record.
